There are a range of different technologies used to activate or tag Access Control readers. These include Magnetic strip cards, RFID cards, Mifare cards, RFID tags, Mifare tags or a combination of these mentioned. The cards can either be "personalised" by adding a person's information and photograph. ISO rated cards can be printed directly using a PVC card printer or an adhesive or "sticky back" card is used. Printing is done onto this secondary card and this is attached by self-adhesive onto the Access control card.
